Lots of detail. I assumed the round thing, which is also in the previous photo, was a saw blade, but now I'm not so sure. Looks like there is some writing on it.
I wonder if the tall structure next to the house is the outhouse?

I think that's a millstone. It says "Hood River" and a few other words I can't make out.

I thought a millstone at first, but it doesn't seem to be very uniformly round. Wouldn't think that would work very well. And if a millstone that size, it would be very heavy.

And I thought the tall structure next to the house might be a smokehouse. But that would be a good way to burn the house down as smokehouses have a tendency to catch fire.

Cannot imagine a smokehouse or an outhouse this close to the main house, both for good reasons..

My bad, I was thinking of something other than a millstone. You are probably right Arthur.

looks like a grinding/ sharpening stone.

I have another view of this house that my grandfather, Louis Plog, had. He would love to tell us that he was born under an old cherry tree! Technically, he was correct! You can find my photo at: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/memories/2ZS8-WZZ
The stone is in my photo also. I never asked him what it was for.

The porch supports on the right all have their limbs trimmed to 6 - 8" or so.
Maybe to leave to hang things on?

Looking at the open upper window, there appears to be two wires. Could this be
electrical wires? And why would one leave a window open in summer time with
all the bugs and critters that like such places?
