This portrait of an organist at the Rialto Theater dates to the 1920's, near the end of the silent film era. The Rialto was located on Oak Street between 4th and 5th, presently a parking lot. The organist may be Vera Kolstad, wife of the theater owner Arthur Kolstad. The Rialto's Wurlitzer journeyed from the Hood River to Coos Bay, before eventually returning to its present home in the History Museum of Hood River County. It is now being restored.

What an excellent picture a refreshing change from so many of today's preservationists who seem to think their instruments have to be huge regardless of where the bits come from.
By the speaker on the right side I would have thought at least as early as mid twenties .
The other picures are great I don't know of a better site for such a fine collection.
WISH you were nearer to me in EXMOUTH UK!!
Gordon.
