This photo is part of a wonderful series we have of a family hunting trip to Harney County, circa 1910. Mrs. Dean looks pretty pleased with these geese, though her granddaughter Miss Olive Shepler seems a little less thrilled. Mrs. Dean's husband, Oliver "Commodore" Dean was well known in Hood River as the operator of a ferry service from Hood River to White Salmon between 1903 and 1919. His ferry the "Ollie S." was named after Miss Olive.
Our database says the car is a Studebaker, though I'm sure a viewer can confirm that for us.

From the November 28, 1912 HR Glacier:
Commodore O.C. Dean and Ollie Sheplar were in the Arlington district last week hunting geese. Mr. Sheplar returned in the ealry part of the week, but the Commodore remained in the grain fields with a number of other friends until the latter part of the week.
I don't think this could be grandaughter Olive Shepler, daughter of Alf and Clara Shepler. She was born Oct. 01, 1910.
I also cannot figure out who Ollie Sheplar is. He was a business partner of Commodore Dean but I can't find any other information about him. In most of the Glacier news items about him, his name is spelled with an a. Sheplar.
