WOW, now that is one giant chore for a volunteer fire department.....I have fond memories of the siren sounding and the fire truck driving up Oak Street picking up shop owners/workers as they headed out to the fire; a classic example of community service. Father John always talked highly/proudly of his years with the HR and Westside Fire Departments.

How far west of the train depot is this? Just wondering how far west the Mt Hood Railroad train had to travel with a load of apples.

l.e., if I am right about which fire this is, it was basically where the Big 7 (Gorgenet) Bldg is now, west of the Union Bldg.
