Quite the fire that is for certain. I remember vividly the night that Neal Creek sawmill went up in flames in the 1950's. I lived in Pine Grove and you might not believe this, but it was fact, you could feel the heat that that fire was transmitting.
Trying to figure out the little blips of what looks like fire. Are those spot fires being started by flying embers?

It certainly looks like the hill in back of the mill is on fire. It looks like at least two trees have their whole trunks burning.

The main fire is the log deck as your looking to the north and the hill side is above the highway that goes to Parkdale the one building behind the smoke stacks looks like the store and post office building. We lived in Dee in one of the company houses in the late 50s.

Is that the current location of the bridge? Are we looking up river or down river. I am having a hard time figuring out where that is exactly and where Alva would have been standing.

I am a little confused on location as well as the "Power House" the building with the smoke stacks is on the east side of the river, so we would be looking south, I wonder if the bridge we are seeing is a railroad bridge thou I thought it went across the dam, but it could be the road bridge on the north end.
