With his ears laid back, the horse does not look very happy. He is a big horse and looks like a hand full. This photo makes me realize how vulnerable the driver of a wagon was, to a runaway.

Yes Will, as you can see in the Google view the curb line points directly at the base of the Syncline, so it's barely out of frame.

This is looking down Main Street in Mosier. At that time Mosier had the hotel you can see on the SE corner and at least one blacksmith shop. The current restaurant, formerly The WildFlower, now MoCo is at the end of the block down the street on the right (east).

About 1949 dad and I camped out in the boon docks of Mosier and had a knock down fight with a Hugh rattle snake, apparently, decided it wanted our bed. I distracted the devil while dad gave it the big sleep. Otherwise, It was a great camp out with great cold water stream, fresh caught trout, fried in a cast iron skillet, with wild mushrooms.
