Here is another view of the East Barrett School. Not sure why, but it is one of my favorites.

Allie Forry, my Grandma Gordon’s sister. She married a man last name Powell.
She ran a Millenry (hat) shop in Pomeroy, WA.
She passed around 1980- I helped my Mom clean out the old shop- very interesting stuff. My Older Oak Grove cousins went to school at Barrett, before it was condemned.

All these early schools have a kind of visual pleasure. The architectural style and the choice of trims are just so admirable. The extra windows, the trim on the peak, and what looks like a widow's walk rather than a bell tower, but either way it has the extra trim. Back in the day carpenters took their time to make their work notable.
