This nice postcard view of the Mt. Hood Hotel is postmarked in 1936 but I am sure it was much older. The building to the right disappeared sometime between the 1916 and 1928 Sanborn maps. The clothing, the horses and the dirt streets suggest closer to 1910. It looks like it predates the 1913 construction of the brick Mt. Hood Hotel "Annex". I'm pretty sure after they built the annex it became the focus of their advertising, with modern rooms and a brick construction to cater to guests.

Beautiful building. I wonder if a room with a river view was more expensive.
Do you think you could see Mt Hood from the observation tower?

Probably the grandest hotel ever in Hood River. Who was responsible for it's design and building?

Pietro's Pizza is hardly an improvement.

T. J Hosford built the hotel. Doesn’t seem to be any info on who designed it. Possibly Hosford himself.
