This house is where my Buddy Steve grew up in, three kids, a Grandma and of course His Mom and Dad.

It looks like the lot was flatter 100 years ago (?).

In the "it's a small world" department, that triple branched oak closest to the house suffered damage in the 2006 ice/rain event, one branch split off and hit the house. The owners at the time hired a tree company to come in and take the rest down. The aborist cut it into firewood size chunks and left it, the owners offered it up on gorge.net. I couldn't say no to it, and within blocks of daughter's house. Snow, slush, raining, but downhill slope of drive allowed me to roll the rounds into the trailer, then manhandle them up two or three rounds high, and three tandem axle trailer loads of green oak later, got it all. Spent many an afternoon splitting wood for exercise that summer. The last of the biggest three foot diameter rounds I had to rent a huge splitter to break up. Hundreds of years old, I remember rough counting rings, but don't recall number now.
