Here's another fine Kiser card from the Lewis and Clark Exposition. The text on the reverse explains it:
There is no more instructive trip than to go into the famous Bohemia mining district and watch the operation of the opening of a quartz ledge. In this picture they have about 15 feet of the surface torn away and are about to start making of a tunnel, which will reach into the mountain for thousands of feet. It is claimed that the Bohemia district will some day rank with the best quartz mines in the world.
The Bohemia Mining District was in Lane County. Here's a history of the district.
