This view of the Mt. Hood School was taken during the winter of 1938-39. The building still exists, now part of the Mt. Hood Town Hall. According to the sign out front it was constructed in 1911.

I am glad they have preserved the beautiful building. It must have been well built. I see what looks like a stack of cordwood on the right side of the building Must be for the furnace?

Quite a rustic place with rock and raw concrete in the basement with very modest cooking eqpt. and bathrooms until the community got together and did a massive fund raiser and remodel that makes it an anchor for the whole community.
Shows the spirit of that community, along with their grange hall in town by the railroad terminal.

I have a 1913 photo of children decorating the Maypole at the Old Cooper School in Mount Hood. Is this the same building? Teachers at the Cooper School were Hattie Bailey and Ella Everson Sheldrake: Roger & Arlen's grandmother

Great photo, a classic school well framed with a beautiful background.
