I have a wicker fishing basket just like that. It isn’t used for fishing any more.
That river doesn’t look like the Little Deschutes country does it?

Canoed the Little Deschutes, it wanders and is shaped like ribbon candy, check any map. Great country for canoeing until my son decided he could go over Benham Falls, shortened up one of my canoes about 12".

My Dad had one of those fishing creels as we called it. He always put wet leaves in it and layed the fish in there, then covered them with more wet leaves.

The loops of this river were so tight I once carried my canoe a couple hundred feet and surprised the one that had been in front.
