That ridge line looks like the mountains behind Cascade Locks to me. Can you add anything?

I was thinking down stream from Cascade Locks, but definitely a community atmosphere so probably in the town of CL.
The house already has some age on it.

What appears to be a flagpole on the right end of the house made me think it might be some kind of official building, but nothing else in the picture confirms this. The house itself looks like a duplex design with identical entry doors and porches. Nice fence work too.

I agree with the site of Cascade Locks, the flagpole may indicate a government building and the wood sidewalk a community.

Here's a Google images link that appears to show the exact same ridgeline behind CL: https://images.app.goo.gl/y8bdHGT4tGpX24zp6

Thanks Harold. That pretty well settles the question of location.

That sure is a total clear cut up the hill. Probably first cut of giant old trees?

That is a good sized house if you also check out the addition to the rear. Must have been a well to do person or not a private residence. And four out buildings. I always wondered if the multiple out buildings was to prevent loss in case of a fire. Or is it outhouse, tool shed, horse barn, buggy barn...

I suspect those hillsides were burned. The Yacolt Burn was 1902 which burned in the Cascade Locks area before crossing into Washington.
I suppose there also could have been log flumes coming down the hillside.

@L.E. Interesting. I did not know the Yacolt Fire burned into Oregon. But looking it up it burned up Eagle Creek (again) and up the Larch Mountain area. But it evidently did not get into Cascade Locks, although it burned around the Horsetail Falls area as well. Was that the one set by boys burning out a wasp nest?

Could that be Hamilton mtn in the distance from Bonneville?
Would the flagpole indicate a govt building?
The wood sidewalk and fence indicate another building next door, could this be at Bonneville?

Kenn, that cleft in the hill matches all the pictures I have of Cascade Locks. can you provide an example of the profile of the hills around Bonneville?
