Something we don't experience anymore in our travels in this area is "road conditions when frost goes out of the ground", which is what this kind of looks like.

This is a very common condition for bike trails around here. Super slick skim on frozen ground because of partial thaw. The smart rider/ buggy driver gets up early to beat the thaw. We try to use peer pressure to keep people from riding in these conditions because it does serious damage to the trail.

Counties will close roads to GVW when spring thaw goes out of the ground.
