I don't think we've seen this view of the Pacific Power and Light Powerdale hydroelectric plant. The main building which houses the turbines is still around, but the surge tower was removed by helicopter about 10 years ago.
Where is the road?

Having lunch at the senior center, I meet the gentleman who spent his career with the electric company down there manning the plant. I'm sure he will have many stories to tell. Come on over at noon and I'll introduce you to him.

Beautiful shot. I think the big gantry crane is still there too.

No one noticed I accidentally posted two images today? I bumped the other one forward to next Friday, in case you're wondering where it went.

Might he be Dick Frazier? We bought his house and he told me he spent most of his career there.

I think my friend, Phyllis Dalleske Mockler lived on site with her family:
Father Ralph Dalleske , sister & mother. If indeed this is the site, she also said that she & her sister walked up to the road to get a bus to school.

Phyllis was raised in Tygh Valley and I believe the hydro plant to which you are referring is at White River Falls. (Her Grandson, who misses her dearly)
