This interior hasn't changed too much since 2010, other than the ever changing staff of baristas. This is Dog River Coffee owner Nate Devol serving up hot beverages at his shop on Oak Street.
We previously viewed this spot as the location of the Hood River News. An interesting side note: the Hood River News recently stopped printing their newspaper at their Hood River location. It is now printed in Salem and trucked to Hood River.
I believe this is the first time since 1889 that we've had no active newspaper presses in Hood River. The first few issues of the Glacier were printed in the Dalles, but by the end of 1889 they installed presses at their Oak Street location. Newspaper presses have been humming away in town for some 128 years without interruption, printing the Glacier, the Hood River News, the Hood River Sun, and few other publications. We still have a newspaper, but the local printing presses have gone silent.

Some interesting comments in the "previously viewed link".
My hometown newspaper the Post Record is now printed by the Vancouver Columbian.

Anyone know who prints the White Salmon Enterprise, the Goldendale Sentinel and The Dalles Chronicle?

Any photos of Lucy Gorman in her shop? Or Carol Thayer at Enchanted Alpaca? I know Carol has closed but others should have some photos of her. I probably do.

I heard -thru post office lines- that all of those, along with the HR News, are printed in Salem now.

Ellen, I wish I had been more methodical about stopping in each shop, but mostly I just took pictures as I was doing my business around town. Please, everyone send me your own "interiors" pictures and I'll be happy to add them to our archives.
Beth, I know the Dalles Chronicle just moved to a smaller space, giving all their archives to the Discovery Center. I think they are also printed in Salem now.
