This image is identified as the May Street School, though I am having trouble figuring out which way we are looking. The temporary classrooms and the covered athletic area were newer additions, so perhaps that's confusing me.
These girls are identified as Jean Hahn, Ona Green, Cathy Dehart, Charlotte Smith, Martha Hackett, Nancy Duckwall, and Lindsay Gainer. I can't vouch for the spelling of the names. There seem to be 7 names for 5 1/2 girls. Hopefully you'll be able to match the names and faces.

South side, looking west/northwest-ish (towards 10th St).

Yep that looks like the back side, which now faces the construction of the new school building. Interesting to see that it's always been a high traffic area. Lots of kids come in solo from June Street every morning, and go in the back way.

more memories...not all good....I believe that is the gym door that good friend/classmate Pete Jubitz put his hand through during a dumb chase (mid-1950s)....lots of blood....soon thereafter better glass I think with wire was put in the door. I'm sure he still has the scars.
