Very good photo and it does a good job of hiding the west fork of the Hood River, unless you have local knowledge of where it flows by the mill.

great photo and memories.....just need a MHRR train to make it perfect. hard to imagine a more scenic place than the HR Valley and I have traveled a bit..

I agree with Arlen, would be nice to see a train of empties starting up the switchback route and a view of the covered bridge on the right ~

The river, I believe, is the combined Hood River East and Middle forks. The West fork joins the other two north of the Punch Bowl.

This was probably in the early 60s as the houses that were below the road to Dee Flat are gone. The wooden bridge was torn down and the new one in place ,the Hardboard was the building with the large exhaust stack and the sign which read US Plywood the two buildings in the bottom are still there all this was my playground in the late 50s when we lived there.
