good memories of this once vibrant community......slab wood went up the hill to Dee School for heating.
concert venue at Dee, wind surfing capital at Hood River.....would anyone have every guessed? certainly not me...."damn wind always blowing"...........

This is the sight my parents must have seen when they moved to Dee Flat coming from their native Texas in 1947. My mothers 2 sisters and their husbands also came with. We lived on Dee Flat across from the school. Daddy and uncles Chester A. Smith and John M. Hanks logged for Ralph Wonsyld for a long time and worked at the Dee Mill.
