Nice. My guess is this ship captain had one crew member-his dog. Old boat yards in Southeast Alaska still abound with these old commercial wooden trollers that one man could operate and fish on to make a living.

I see what looks like a U.S. flag which is probably on a U.S. boat. I am wondering if it was common to see the U.S. flag on Alaska buildings prior to 1959 or was it more common to see Benny Benson's Territorial flag.

Amazing... there's noting to tip me off that this was shot as far back as 1917. Could've been the 50s or 60s as far as I can tell. Arthur what was it shot on? 6x6?

Kyle, the negative is a Kodak Autographic film, roughly 3x5" which I think was size A-122.

3 by 5 inches explains the sharpness and clarity in the center where the lens resolved well. That's huge. Cool!
