In 1902, A. J. Fletcher and company left their home in Vancouver Washington to visit "Wild West Camp" at Lost Lake. We have a small hand made album commemorating the adventure. It looks like the trip took a little longer than it does today.
I think it's interesting that just 50 years after the "Oregon Trail" migration they were mythologizing the "Wild West" days.
I always thought it was interesting that Ezra Meeker traveled the Oregon Trail by oxcart, and 50 some years later he is worried that the trail was being forgotten.

I think that snag would be considered an unacceptable hazard today.

wondering how long it took to travel from HR to Lost Lake on this "road". don't think I would have the energy to set up camp after this trip.
