In 1902, A. J. Fletcher and company left their home in Vancouver Washington to visit "Wild West Camp" at Lost Lake. We have a small hand made album commemorating the adventure. It looks like the trip took a little longer than it does today.
I think it's interesting that just 50 years after the "Oregon Trail" migration they were mythologizing the "Wild West" days.

I always thought it was interesting that Ezra Meeker traveled the Oregon Trail by oxcart, and 50 some years later he is worried that the trail was being forgotten.

wondering how long it took to travel from HR to Lost Lake on this "road". don't think I would have the energy to set up camp after this trip.
