Gertrude Ruth Stanton was 18 at the time of this photo, She was the daughter of George and Lenora (Stamper) Stanton. Later she would marry Guy Linville.
Jessie Gayle Stockwell was also 18 at the time of this photo. She would later marry George Virgil Winchell, who was the son of Virgil "Doc"
Wenchell and who was the brother of Arline (Winchell) Moore. We have seen a number of Arline's photos.

They look older than 18.
Since their skirts aren't wet, they either haven't gone sledding yet, or they stand up on the sleds. Although standing up on a sled seems like it would lead to a very improper fall, with skirts coming up above the knees and everything getting wet.
They look like they are having fun, and that is what is important.

Is that the empty site beside the big wooden playground on 9th that appears to have had a school on it?
Its a wonder that it took so many years for snowboarding to be invented, she's almost doing it!
