In 1897 the Hood River Glacier published a special 4 page holiday supplement. This was the front cover. It's fun to see how the representations of Santa Claus have changed through the ages.
Hope everyone enjoys their holiday. HHR will be back next Monday.

To Arthur and all of your helpers, if you still have any??....I agree with Tom Kloster.
Minus the interesting pipe and walking stick, you are like Father Christmas with a bag full of goodies, to share with us each weekday.
Thank you for keeping history a part of our daily lives.
And to all of you regulars who post comments....you feel like family. Enjoy your holiday.

Thanks Arthur and gang, you make our understanding of our sense of place even greater. Really honor your effort and dedication. And to all the 'old timers' who expand and validate each day's topics, Happy Holidays to you too.
